Introducing Tula Baby Blankets

I don’t remember how long I’ve wanted to include baby blankets in the Tula line-up, but the real journey started about two years ago while visiting textile mills in Europe.  At the time, I was looking into weaving Tula Woven Wraps. What a wonderful journey that was; trying different blends, choosing weaving patterns and working with some amazing old-world masters.  It was then that I first felt the fabric for the blankets Baby Tula will be introducing to our line-up this November.

At first, I was blown away by how incredibly soft and plush this bamboo fabric felt.  The weave wasn’t like anything else I’d touched before and I was so impressed with the quality of the printing.  When the weavers showed me how they could make jacquard blankets using variations on this weave, I knew the Tula community needed these!

Finally this summer, while back in Europe, I was able to work with our partner textile mill to choose prints and jacquard designs for our first line.  I designed Tula Baby Blankets to coordinate with Tula Baby Carriers, both some new canvases and some favorite woven wrap patterns.  I love that by creating blankets, Tula fans will have yet another way to snuggle their babies and enjoy their favorite prints.

A few Tula Blanket sneak peeks!

These Tula Baby Blankets are made from 100% bamboo, making them cozy yet breathable. I can’t wait to share them with you, I know they’ll make the perfect addition to your collection for snuggling, swaddling or gifting.

I hope you love them as much as I do! ~Ula

Sleepy time with our Migaloo jacquard Tula Baby Blanket.  Developed in the early 1800’s, jacquard is a method of weaving that creates intricate patterns woven into the textile.
