Can my baby face forward in the Explore Baby Carrier?

The Explore Baby Carrier allows you to front carry your baby in the facing out position when your baby is between 14 - 25 lbs (6.4 -11.3 kg), has strong head and neck control, and is tall enough to have their face fully clear the top of the body panel while being seated in the carrier.

It is important to watch your baby’s cues when using the facing-out position. Your child should not sleep in this position. If your child falls asleep in the facing-out position, be sure to position them back to facing in or take them out of the carrier.

The Explore Baby Carrier is the only Tula carrier designed for the forward-facing position.
At what age or weight should I increase to the middle or wide setting of the Explore Baby Carrier?

The narrow setting can be used for newborns and babies at a minimum weight of 7 lbs until approximately 0 - 3 months.

The middle setting can be used for babies 3 - 9 months of age, and the widest setting is suitable for taller babies, approximately 9 months and older.

Please note that these recommendations are guidelines and may vary depending on the height and size of the individual baby.
What positions can baby be worn in the Explore Baby Carrier?

The Explore Baby Carrier offers multiple positions to carry baby including front carry for infant, baby and toddler, forward-facing and back carry for a baby and toddler. Each position provides a natural, ergonomic position that promotes healthy hip and spine development for baby.
When can I back carry my baby in the Explore Baby Carrier?

We always advocate for young infants to be visible and kissable in our carriers.

Your baby needs to be able to fit in the middle or wide setting of our adjustable base carriers to be able to back carry.

We recommend waiting to back carry your child until they have consistent head and neck control to both position them on your back and for them not to slump into a chin to chest position.

Your chest is a young infant’s natural habitat. Take in all those oxytocin snuggles with baby right under your nose. It certainly doesn’t last long. <3
