Every person has their ultimate dream Tula, whether it's a discontinued printed carrier, a “fancy” Signature Collection carrier.. This is called their DISO, which stands for Desperately In Search Of.

E IS FOR EXPLORE

Explore is the name of our first carrier to offer a world-facing position for baby. It has an adjustable seat and panel to fit babies starting at 7lbs without an infant insert and supports both wearer and baby ergonomically. You can find the Explore carrier in different textile options, including All-Cotton, Coast, Signature, and Linen. 

F IS FOR FREE-TO-GROW, FLAX, AND FLUFF MAIL

Free-to-Grow is both a carrier and a turning point for Tula. It was our first buckle carrier to fit from birth without the need for an infant insert. The soft simplicity of this carrier keeps babywearing easy for caregivers. Sometimes written as FTG, the Free-to-Grow is available in All Cotton, Coast, Signature, and Linen.

Did you know that linen is made from the flax plant? It is the oldest known textile and could date back as far as 30,000 years! This incredible fiber was blended with cotton to make our new Tula Linen collection

Fluff Mail is the ultimate prize - getting your prized Tula product in the mail! Our community loves showing off what comes in the mail, so you might see a photo of a package asking if you want to see what's inside. 

G IS FOR GATHERED SHOULDER

All of our Tula Ring Slings come with a gathered shoulder. When wearing a Ring Sling, make sure you spread the fabric over your shoulder to help distribute the weight and have a more comfortable carry!

Since 2012, Girasol has made woven wrap for some of the most iconic Tula Signature carriers ever. Partnering with local artisans, small workshops and independent weavers in Guatemala and Mexico, Girasol produces beautiful, handwoven wraps that celebrate the artistry and craftsmanship of their weavers while providing sustainable wages and fair trade working conditions. You will notice that several of our Signature Collection Ring Slings are woven by Girasol as well. 

H IS FOR HIP POUCH AND HEIRLOOM BLANKET 

The Tula Hip Pouch solves your need for a compact, convenient way to carry your items and your baby. Wear it around your waist, over your shoulder, across your body or attach it to your Tula Carrier….Unless of course, you have a Tula Lite. Then your hip pouch is already attached!

I IS FOR IRL AND INSTAGRAM 

IRL stands for In Real Life. You'll see this a lot when people want to see live/action shots of a certain carrier or blanket. People post pics of themselves using the item in different settings and lighting to give you an idea of what it looks like aside from the product photos on the Tula website or social. J IS FOR “J” SHAPE

The way a baby looks when placed on a caregiver’s chest in and out of a carrier is sometimes referred to as a J-shape. It’s not a perfect description, but it helps to visualize that baby is not slumped with their chin to their chest and that they have their pelvis tucked with their knees at or above their bottom. All babywearing should simulate the positions that baby naturally takes outside of the carrier and your Tula carriers are perfect for that!

K IS FOR KISSABLE

When carrying your baby in a Tula, you always want them to be Visible and Kissable! Close enough to kiss is a good rule of thumb for any babywearing!

L IS LITE AND LINEN 

Tula Lite is our lightest weight carrier, but it is so much more than that. We proved that a baby travel carrier that rolls up and stores in the waistband of its own hip pouch could be comfy with the Tula Lite. The Tula Lite also magically offers the most built-in storage of all our carriers. It starts to fit babies just out of the newborn stage and makes a unique baby shower gift. 



Linen is the newest development at Baby Tula HQ and we are so excited! You can expect all the comfort features you are used to with Tula carriers, but with a soft linen/cotton blend fabric and a subtle herringbone pattern. Tula Linen is available in Explore and Free-to-Grow carriers.

M IS FOR "M" SHAPE AND MINI 

"M" Shape describes the position an infant naturally takes where their knees are slightly higher than their bottom. It looks a bit like an “M” when looking at baby in a Tula where their knees are supported by the carrier and the weight it on their bottom.




Mini Toy Carriers are perfect for a child being promoted to big sibling or for a former Tula baby. They'll love carrying their own precious cargo. These mini carriers are often available to match the grownup size options. Check back frequently for restocks! 

N IS FOR NEW ARRIVALS AND NEWBORN READY

O IS FOR OSCHA, OoLaLoom, AND OOAK

Oscha and OoLaLoom are just two of the many independent weavers that we work with to bring you the handmade textile art that makes up our Signature Collection of carriers.

OOAK is a special term for those One-Of-A-Kind items. It might be a Tula sample that never went into production, a Signature Collection Carrier that only one exists of in a particular size and design, or a product customized outside of Tula world. Our Artisan carriers are OOAK! They are made in micro-batches and crafted from existing handwoven materials traditionally made by Guatemalan weavers. We pair these textiles with Girasol-designed material to create one-of-a-kind Signature carriers.

P IS FOR PFAS AND PRESCHOOL 

Our Standard, Toddler, and Preschool carriers come with an important adjustment-helper called PFAs (Perfect Fit Adjusters) at the top of the panel where the shoulder straps start. These PFAs help keep baby close to your body and provides added length for taller caregivers. The Free-to-Grow uses the same easy-to-use adjuster, but on that carrier, it is used to adjust the height of the panel.

Parents learn that a child’s need for closeness does not stop at infancy. You will likely be called on to hold your giant “babies” when they are tired, frustrated, scared, or need connection. You need a Preschool Tula to meet those needs. Preschool Tula serves a weight range of 35 to 70 pounds and typically starts to fit children in 4T pants. It comes in both All-Cotton and Signature Collection fabrics.



Q IS FOR QUICK UPS

One of the many benefits of a Ring Sling is that it provides for a fast and easy carrying option for "Quick Ups" when running a quick errand! The Tula Lite is stored away and ready at a moment's notice too!

R IS FOR RING SLING AND RIPSTOP 

What is a ring sling? It’s a long piece of fabric secured at the shoulder with a set of safety-tested seamless rings. In Tula’s case, the fabric is a woven wrap made specifically to carry the weight of a child. It’s a great addition to your baby registry as you will want one right away when your little one arrives. 



What do parachutes and Tulas have in common? Ripstop! To make the Tula Lite, we needed something strong and packable and Ripstop was perfect. It is also quick-drying and water-resistant. 

S IS FOR SLEEPY DUST AND SIGNATURE

Sleepy Dust is what you get in EVERY piece of Tula Fluff Mail! It's this magic potion that no baby can resist and they instantly fall asleep!

The Signature Collection refers to anything made with premium woven wrap fabric. We collaborate with a number of weavers around the world to bring you this specialty textile art that is then converted by hand to our buckle carriers, ring slings, and accessories by our talented sewists in Poland. 

T IS FOR TULA LOVE AND TODDLER

Tula grew exponentially in popularity just from word of mouth and the sense of community that surrounded the product. Tula Love is a fan lead Facebook group that keeps up with all the new happenings with Tula. It is a great place to ask questions and get quick answers. There is also an off-topic group where you can ask anything under the sun. Many people have met their best friends in Tula Facebook groups and we are proud of that. Prior to 2020, we hosted regional Tula Love Playdates! 

The Toddler Tula is meant to soak up all those big kid snuggles and also to prevent a runaway child from trying to join the giraffes at the zoo. Children love the boost they are given to see the world at your eye level. You can also take your adventures with your toddler further when you do not need a stroller. It’s a must have for travel, but it’s something that can be used every day at home too. A Toddler Tula usually starts to fit when your child is in a minimum of 2T pants for length. By that time, they will also be within the 25 to 60lb weight range the carrier accommodates.

Our fearless founder, Ula! Ula started Tula as a mom in a small apartment in Poland. 



V IS FOR VISCOSE

Viscose is what all of our Tula Blankets are made from! Each one is made of 100% Viscose, which is produced from specially processed bamboo pulp that gives our blankets a plump, fluid softness that maintains a light feel while being ultra-soft.

W IS FOR WRAP CONVERSION AND WARM WEATHER FRIENDLY

“Wrap Conversion” describes our Signature Collection carriers.  Baby Tula Signature Collection Carriers are our premiere, limited edition style of luxury baby carriers. Artistic, unique designs, often utilizing handwoven and hand-dyed woven wraps, and handmade craftsmanship give our Signature Carriers a distinct beauty that is rare and coveted. Wrap Conversion just means that the carrier is made from a woven baby wrap.  Signature Carriers are released every other week. You can sign up for text alerts so that you do not miss one.

We are so often asked what the BEST Tula is for warm weather. Well, we wrote a whole blog about it! If you want the Cliffs Notes, we think that you will love our mesh Coast Collection, Tula Linen, Tula Lite, and Tula Signature Ring Slings for warm climates. People find our core collection of all-cotton and signature carriers breathable and comfortable too though.
